One of my favorite moments of Scripture, one that I often ponder and think about is found in the Book of Revelation.
Picture this; it is the last moments of human history as we know it. The biggest affront against God’s people since the foundation of the earth was released a few years ago, but His Bride has been overcoming and conquering through the blood of the Lamb and the Word of her testimony. God’s people are longing, thirsty for His return. He is coming back for her, and He will be waging war against everything that hindered love. He is on a mission, and He will fulfill it. Suddenly…
“… I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.” (Rev 19:11)
Y’all, at the greatest moment of human history (maybe second, with the cross & resurrection) and Jesus Christ, the Son of God chooses to be described in a way that will remind His Bride of His love for her. He is faithful to us and true to His promises. The Amplified Version of this verse declares Faithful means that He is also Trustworthy, Loyal, Incorruptible, Steady.
This blows my mind. Like, seriously. Legitimately. I could ponder on this Scripture for hours. As a Bridegroom King and Judge, in this glorious entrance (because Scripture also says that the sky would be pulled back like a scroll. So, it’s kinda of a big moment) Jesus Christ, my Savior, my Best Friend and the only Lover of my Soul decided to declare His faithfulness and commitment to me and to you. His purpose is to rescue His people, and He does it by declaring His love for her and waging war and rightly judging every thing that hinders love.
What a glorious, beautiful, kind Man we love and serve y’all.
